New PlayStation 3 Teardown Reveals Improved Repairability

iFixit has torn down another new gadget -- this time, it's the new, super-slim PlayStation 3 that Sony debuted last month.

The teardown reveals a machine that's quite similar to the previous version of PlayStation 3, but easier to repair. iFixit scores it 7 out of 10 on the repairability scale; this especially goes for the hard drive, which can easily be accessed and upgraded -- if you're the tinkering type.

On the other hand, iFixit didn't have any nice words to say about the sliding disc tray door (new to the 2012 PS3), which felt 'janky' and easily breakable, the DIY repair company said.
